Expect the Unexpected, is what precisely comes to the mind when such a name comes in along with such a heavy, established and renowned hospitality brand. So just to cleat the air, this very venue is situated in Shangri-La's-Eros Hotel, New Delhi, on the ground floor, right juxtapose to the entrance of the Hotel's lobby. Very much to my excitement, the name is engraved right on one of the pillars for easy approach and the concierge like always there to help. Back to this phenomenal concept, that the Hotel's team came up with by bringing to their patrons a sense of quintessential street food with a bit of twist to the flavors, presentation and taste all in one. The very purpose is to serve what mostly is served outside on local stalls and to make the clients happy with something completely unconventional as such things are never anticipated in a 5-star Hotels.
Talking about its infrastructure, so the place has been designed very artistically by a Dubai based company and the way it has been designed as if an artist spilled its melancholic lyrics into the abstract of beauty, every corner, had something to say, because the mirror work added a great touch to the whole concept by giving out a reflection of green and on the other hand the great tea wall, which made the whole panoramic view exceptionally beautiful. The giant chandelier was a great addition to the beauty of the venue as it gave a peculiar look and explanation to its aesthetics very precisely. The whole venue was simply looking fabulous, and the very touch of profuse exorbitance was evident to it. It was amazing to be here.
Speaking about there jewellery box first, a set of pastries, cakes and multi flavored chocolates which is kept in a glass box is what they term as jewellery box very proudly and the box looks so tempting on the very first notice that any one dish from that box is a must try. Coming to the way they serve the tea, as that is what I just found very impressive. One can customize the tea as per their own required condiments and flavor as they have many options to add, next they serve the tea is very authentic way as to serve in cutting Chai glasses, and a special treat for tea lovers as the way it is presented. In addition to this they also serve the very famous Namkeen ka Dabba, in which one can choose any of the three out of six options to go with tea and not to forget the famous bhel which was innovated by a magic touch by the Chef.
Eventually, we were served some dishes served very much famous in Mumbai and only to be availed on stalls yet, everything was here right on our palate without going to Mumbai.
Starting with the 3 types of Wow Pao i.e. Spiced Potato (Vada pao), Goan Chorizo (Pork Sausage) and Shikampuri Pao (lamb Kebab), gradually we were served 3 types of samosas as Punjabi Original, Chilly Cheese (just wow) and Butter Chicken samosa. After this one dish that was a mind blowing deal, which was the SPDP (Pani puri served with condiments already in it, and on aaloo mixture) simply amazing, also the Shakarkandi Chaat, in the Chaat Pe Charcha section. Then came MTDC (Multi decker sandwich which was again a heartthrob on the palate), also the Colaba Fish Fry sandwich which was a good deal too go for and this was from the section of Taste of Mumbai also, in the beverage section we had, a chocolatine and a Orange Ginger Punch and the unforgettable apple cinnamon ice tea. And after all of this, a single sip of water, and an implosion might have happen. So a little chat, and finally to beat the cold a taste of their finest coffee was inevitable, progressively came in as a final round, Cafe Mocha with assorted Cookies as they serve it complimentary and also some of their delectable handmade multi flavored chocolates with some really good Macaroons.
The Entire experience was not just great but different in many ways, it was the first time such feeling came, as the services of the staff, the entire hospitality was remarkable, but such a friendly approach was exemplary. Looking very much forward to revisit this place. Loved it.
